The Singida Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) issues a strong warning to citizens who are involved in the theft of water infrastructure, including water meters, taps, and other equipment related to water distribution.

These acts are criminal offenses and a violation of the law, as such equipment is government property. Anyone found damaging or possessing this equipment without legal authorization will face strict legal action, including arrest and prosecution.

Additionally, SUWASA warns scrap metal dealers and artisans who use these materials to make decorations or household items. Engaging in such activities constitutes participation in a criminal chain and is a punishable offense.

All citizens are encouraged to report to the relevant authorities whenever they witness any person involved in the theft or destruction of water infrastructure.

Anyone who provides accurate information leading to the arrest of water infrastructure thieves will receive a reward of TSh 500,000/=.
